We are Jo and David.
We live in Spain, about 65Kms inland from Alicante.
One of our main hobbies is to travel and explore the world, do some diving, and meet new people.
We have a teenage son, Kevin. He passed his Padi Junior Scuba diver exam aged 10 in April 2004 in the Grand Canaries, and did another dive in Spain followed by another 11 in Australia.
Happily she enjoyed being dressed in rubber, and enjoyed her lessons. (David thinks its mainly because she fancied Duncan, one of her instructors!) She completed the course and got her fins on July 14th, 2002.
Jo has since dived in the Grand Canaries with ScubaSur, and at several locations in Australia in early 2007

David is British, but always on the move. He has been diving since he went to the Maldives on holiday in the summer of 2000. He was bored of just sitting on the beach, so he explored the dive shop in the resort and decided to give scuba a try, loved the experience, and now heads to warm water whenever he has enough money in his pocket.
He got his Advanced Open Water licence diving off the Great Barrier Reef on new years eve 2000. He is not ashamed to admit he is a warm water diver, having done one dive at 14 degrees he has decided to wimp out and avoid diving in the cold again. (update - he has now done a further 8 dives in water below 16 degrees, and he is still a warm water diver!)
In January-March 2007 we went to Australia for a holiday/honeymoon. We dived in quite a lot of locations along the coast between Sydney and Bundaberg. The pictures from this trip can be seen on davidspinney.com
You can talk to David by writing to him using the form on the contact pages Kevin is our son, he didn't want to miss out on the diving, and was always pushing to get into the water with us. When he was 9 he did 2 bubble-maker courses which made him even more keen.
When we visited the Grand Canaries in 2004 (aged 10) and he found out he was allowed to become a junior diver, he was in the water with an instructor before we had even taken our bags to our hotel room! Kevin did 2 open water boat dives in the Canaries, and has since done another 11 open water dives in Australia.
Kevin aged 10 in the Canaries.
Kevin aged 13 in South West Rocks, Australia. This was between 2 great dives with very close encounters with Grey Nurse Sharks
